Hawaii Art News and Directory (HAND) is a relatively new, bimonthly, twelve page, high quality color (glossy) publication that represents artists, art galleries and other fine art related businesses of Hawaii. Its purpose is to: 1) Exhibit the arts of Hawaii to art collectors both in and outside of Hawaii, 2) Provide interesting information and news to all art enthusiasts and 3) Supply Hawaii’s artists and art galleries with an effective tool that will help them market their artwork.

AND has been tastefully designed in content and layout to "frame" the Hawaiian art business in a complimentary, high profile fashion, to an international audience. It is a useful reference guide for the experienced or novice art collectors and a source of "intelligent" art news regarding: art galleries, upcoming art exhibitions, fund-raisers, art organizations, silent auctions, grand receptions, new/local artists, world renowned/ international artists, authentic Hawaiian art, museums, graphics, jewelry, pottery, photographers, carvers, publishers, sculptors, framers and art conservationist, etc.H
AND was founded in 1997 by its publisher/editor; Wendy Sasaguchi-Aldag, who is a 20 year veteran in art marketing. As an artist’s wife, she recognized the need for quality representation for the artists of Hawaii. Her goal is to continue to expand and develop the news directory until it reaches its full potential as the "ultimate" art resource handbook for both artists and collectors.H
AND has been given encouraging and favorable acknowledgment from the STATE FOUNDATION ON CULTURE AND THE ARTS (click on their emblem on the home page for more information about their organization) and they have submitted support by supplying our readers with educational information regarding the arts and Hawaii in every issue. They have given written approval of our efforts and have been very helpful.H
AND is a member of the HAWAII VISITORS AND CONVENTION BUREAU which distributes the publication in all of their Hawaiian and international locations (see list of locations on the home page under their logo) and in their "Aloha" biannual publication.
